15 Items of Civil Affairs Including Notification of Moving, Births, and Marriage
You can make civil affairs applications through the national comprehensive website (www.egov.go.kr). The Ministry of Public Administration and Security plans to provide fifteen services online, starting with five items of service (including notifications of relocation and death) by the end of 2009, then will provide another five regarding birth, and finally provide five more regarding marriage. To use this website, you need to connect to the E-government web site and then complete the collective application form after confirming your identity. After confirmation, applicants will be informed by cell phone or email.

- End of December 2009 / first 2 items (collective service including relocation, death); test operation for 3 items (disabled affairs, veterans affairs, name changing)
- End of January 2010 / next 3 items (disabled affairs, veterans affairs, name changing) completed
- July 2010/ 5 items (birth, education, job, unemployment, workers´ compensation) completed
- December 2012/ 5 items (car, marriage, establishing a business with little capital, livelihood protection, adoption) completed
Registrations of births and deaths should be done in a local resident center. For cases of divorce or name changes, you should go to the District Office. Fines will be given for registering late.
