Emergency Services
The number to call for emergency services (fire, police, natural disasters) anywhere in Korea is 119. The number can also be used to summon help for any other personal emergencies or accidents that require immediate medical or police attention. Operators will automatically trace the call to identify the caller's location and quickly dispatch the appropriate emergency services. Operators can understand basic English (persons' names, directions, place names, etc.).
For more complicated situations, callers should try to find someone who can speak Korean to help with communications.
Two groups exist to help foreigners in emergency situations. You must be a member to use their services.
