Real Estate Registration
Foreigners acquiring real estate by contract must get permission or report (see below) the acquisition to the appropriate government office within 60 days.
For real estate involving:
- Areas reserved by the Military Installation Law, Naval Base law, or Military Use Air Base Law
- Areas reserved or treasures/properties designated by the Cultural Properties Protection Law
- Natural ecological areas protected by the Nature Conservation Act
Required Documents:
Copy of the real estate registration (대상 토지 등기부 등본, Daesang Toji Deunggibu Deungbon )
Written agreement between the contracting parties
Identification (passport or Certificate of Alien Residence)
Processing time: 15 days
All real estate contracts except those requiring permission must be reported.

Processing time: promptly
Failure to properly report a real estate contract can result in fines up to 3 million won.
