About Gangnam-gu

Location / Area
Gangnam-gu is located in southeastern Seoul. The east side borders Songpa-gu at Tancheon and the west side borders Seocho-gu at Gangnamdae-ro. The south side borders Seongnam city, Gyeonggi Province at Mt. Daemo and Segok-dong. The north side borders Seongdong-gu at the Han River.
The area of Gangnam-gu was 85.44 km² in 1987. After its division in 1988, the Gangnam-gu area was reduced to 39.55 km². The Administrative district of Gangnam-gu is divided into 26 dongs.
